Whitby’s worst hotel ever!

This is the most dirty place I’ve ever been to.  I urge all visitors to Whitby to stay away.  I’d rather sleep on a park bench than stay one more night here.  DISGUSTING!  The staff, who were all teenagers, were rude and sarcastic.  They didn’t even attempt to accommodate my wishes: they just couldn’t be bothered.

When we had finally checked in, the lift got stuck with three of my children inside it.  I went to the desk, but no one was there.  What kind of service is that?  A joke that’s what it is.  It took three hours to get them out.  They didn’t even say sorry even though my children were shivering and traumatised. OUTRAGEOUS!  After that incident, my children couldn’t even eat or drink – not that that they would have wanted to with the state of the food that was being served…

In the dining room, some kids were crying because the food was the most disgusting thing they had ever put down their throats.  It was inedible.  The “full English breakfast” contained: mouldy bread, which had been turned into burnt toast; lukewarm hot-dog sausages; watery tinned tomatoes and overdone, rubbery eggs.  Instead of salt and pepper, this so called food was seasoned with hairs.

I can’t even begin to describe the state of the games room.  Firstly, they had the cheek to charge £10 to enter – daylight robbery!  All the games were damaged or broken.  The only thing that worked was the dart board.  Who in their right minds would put a real dart board in a children’s play room.  A dart went into my child’s head, and he had to go to A&E.

The website says that the rooms are large and spacious:  this is a lie!  Actually they are small and cramped.  Unbelievably, they managed to shove two sets of bunk-beds into a room the size of a cupboard.  The website also stated that there were stunning views.  Unfortunately, I didn’t see these because the only window in the cupboard was boarded up!  There was one flickering light in the middle of the room – they couldn’t even be bothered to place a shade over it!  I’m half glad about the lack of light because it meant that I couldn’t focus on the dirt and cobwebs, which covered every surface.

As I said at the start of this review, I would rather sleep on a bench than stay at The Crow’s nest again.  I was truly horrified by the absolute mess this hotel was.  I demand a refund!
